Information for Zone S6
The Council previously wrote to residents in September 2024 to advise that work to implement the western part of Controlled Parking Zone S6 was about to start. With that work now nearing completion, we are making the final preparations to bring the new areas of Zone S6 into operation.
The Council wrote again to all affected residents and businesses in October 2024 to provide further key information on the new parking controls and project timescales.
The new parking controls will come into effect in areas 1 and 2 of the zone, as shown in the map linked below. The Council will not be proceeding with the controls proposed in areas 3 or 4 at this time, with these areas due to be subject to further monitoring.
Key Dates
The new controls in Zone S6 will come into operation on the 18 November 2024 and parking permits will be available to pre-purchase from the 4 of November 2024. Therefore, when you make your application, you should choose 18 November as your permit start date.
Most restrictions will operate Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, but you should check on-street signs before parking. Please note that some restrictions (such as double yellow lines) are enforceable 24 hours a day.
Access Protection Markings
If you live within Area 1 or 2 and had an existing access protection marking (a white line across your private driveway), we may have temporarily removed that marking to allow for the new restrictions to be marked correctly. Any access protection markings removed to accommodate lining works will be remarked by the Council.
