Priority parking

Priority parking is a part-time scheme to help residents park closer to their homes. The spaces provided will depend upon the number of people who want to park in their street during the day. The rest of the kerbside space will not be controlled.

The places will only run for a short time each day, Monday to Friday to stop commuters and non-residents from parking in permit holder places. This will make it easier for residents, visitors and people making deliveries to park in your street.

Residents can also purchase visitors' permits for their guests. Each scheme also aims to reduce the number of new poles and signs needed.

Priority parking is used where long-stay, non-residential parking such as commuting takes up a parking space that could be used by residents.
