Bin it to win it
We’ve partnered with the to tackle litter in the city. We want to encourage behaviour change by offering rewards to people who bin their litter.
People who live, work and visit Edinburgh can win prizes by taking a photo of their litter being binned and then uploading it to the LitterLotto app.
There’s a weekly national jackpot of £1,000 and a monthly £100 local guaranteed jackpot, as well as other fantastic prizes to win such as vouchers and gadgets.
How to take part
- Download the LitterLotto app from either the or the .
- Take a photo of your litter as it’s being binned.
- Upload it to the app.
Rules
Each month, a prize draw will see one lucky person who binned their litter in Edinburgh chosen at random to win a £100 cash prize. Plus, all entries go into the national weekly £1,000 prize draw. Other prizes, such as vouchers and gadgets, are also up for grabs for other lucky winners.
People can enter as many times as they like, as long as it’s a photo of different litter each time being put into an Edinburgh council litter bin.
Putting rubbish into household waste bins does not count and leaving litter on top of or beside bins doesn’t count either! If a bin is full, please find another one to use.
Entry is free, you must be 12+ age to download the app, cash paid out to over 18s.
