Conclusion of ETRO and next steps
At the 24 October 2024 Traffic Regulation Orders Sub-Committee, councillors agreed to make the project permanent but remove the Manse Road bus gate. Councillors noted the benefits that the project’s changes have brought, particularly the wider footways.
Following the decision of the Committee, work has taken place to remove the bus gate signs, camera and road markings and return Manse Road to its pre-trial layout.
On 23 November 2024 the trial Experimental Traffic Regulation Order came to an end and the permanent Traffic Regulation Order came into effect.
Next steps
The project team are now undertaking the work required to replace the remaining temporary elements of the scheme with permanent materials. This includes the bollard units on Manse Road and Kirk Loan, and the build out on Corstorphine High Street. Construction works are planned to take place in 2025.
